Safe Families for Children™ (SFFC) is a national movement of compassion that gives hope to families in crisis. This network of volunteer host families helps parents who need to temporarily place their children due to unmanageable or critical circumstances (homelessness, illness, recovery, incarceration, job loss). It is not foster care or adoption, and parents voluntarily place children in the care of a Safe Family. The goal of the SFFC ministry is to offer support in a time of need and reunite children with their families in a stronger home environment. This temporary care for children in need gives parents time to establish stability in their homes and introduces them to the life-changing love of Jesus.
Christ’s Church is excited to be partnering with Safe Families and will be hosting an informational workshop on Sunday, March 19th beginning at 1:00pm. For 1 hour, Cindy Thomas will answer questions and share more about the ministry. She will give detailed information as to what the different levels of help are needed and the training involved. There will be no obligation to sign up at this workshop so anyone with any interest can come and learn about Safe Families. Please RSVP to Kristen Johnson.
