  • I know that you preached on verses 1-7 but in chapter 4 it's verses 8-13 that really hit me. It is comforting to know that Paul went through so much. The Christian walk is not easy and Paul pretty much states here that you should not be comfortable in life. I know I do not even come close to the persecution Paul faced, but life is hard. It is good to know that it is okay to be weak because that is how I feel most of the time. Paul, a man that followed God so closely was weak and it is then that he was strong.

This past Sunday at the Church I go to here in PA the theme of the sermon was that the best thing to experience is forgiveness. When we experience forgiveness it is when we recognize our need for Christ. It is not when we make the best decisions or how perfect we are but how much we need Christ and I think it is very true with what Paul says. When he is weak he finds strength and that is because he falls on his face admitting he is nothing without Christ and that is when he is lifted up. Reminds me of a verse in James 4:10
"Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up."

I love Paul's writings because he admits that he is weak and that he is nothing. We are all nothing without Christ yet He chose to save sinners like us. Like what he says back in 1 Cor 1. He chose sinners like us to shame the world, and I just stand in awe of a God who uses our weaknesses for His glory.

  • When you spoke about being a servant and a specific servant.
A servant in trusted with the secrete things of God. That’s big !!!
As I glance ahead to Galatians 1:1, and Paul slams them for perverting
the teachings of God, it make’s me think that I better hold fast to
the truth of the word. For the more I study his word ,this secrets
and mysteries are revealed to me ,that I feel faint and in awe.
Never the less I am made strong.
