The things you spoke to on Sunday morning convicted me on the spot. The way I treat others is contrary to the life Christ called us to and worse yet, my outward actions toward others are nothing compared to the hateful and judgmental things that go on in my head.
I'm not me-bashing. I'm simply saying that God spoke through you to give the truth. As children of God we have a higher calling than the world. I need to live according to my identity in Christ.

Thanks Jason for the transparancy! I, too, have been very challenged by these texts thus far in 1 Corinthians. I am with you here, too. The matter of 'selfishness' is one that I struggle with. (And this from the pastor that said more than once in the sermon yesterday, 'selfishness is a leading indicator of immaturity'). Yes, God is so good to be continuing this good work in us that He has begun!

Darin, I found your Mrs. King example to be an excellent analogy of what it looks like when we as Christians are acting out of character with where Christ is. It was a good reminder to push myself to be just a little more patient or just a little more understanding or just a little more (fill in the blank). Not that I can accomplish character building in my own strength, but that the character already imparted to me is stronger than I give credit to.
