What's On My Mind?
Enter with caution - my mind is a scary place!
Martin Luther ~ I was a guest speaker at MAFA yesterday in the history class. I was tasked with sharing about Martin Luther. In researching, a few things particularly caught my attention: (1) His initial intent was something small, but things exploded into something he hadn't planned or imagined. (2) When things really went sour, only a couple friends remained by Luther's side. (3) Although it was Pope Leo and Church Councils that sought to undo him, Luther saw his struggle was against evil - 'but still our ancient foe, doth seek to work us woe'. (4) He didn't see it all as chance, but rather Luther understood it all to be the hand of God - 'for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us'. (5) The end result was, and continues to be, far greater than Martin Luther had ever imagined. And, for those with ears to hear... thanks.
Britney Spears ~ (How's that for a segue - Luther to Britney?) I was planning to blog some jokes about Britney hearing that 3 Chords decided not to close their gig the other night with one of her songs, but went instead with the Backstreet Boys, and that she became so distraught she shaved her head and went into hiding. Then I thought a bit more about the news stories the last couple of months where Britney is concerned. It's not something I want to poke fun at. This young lady is in a spiral, and I'm very worried that we will be reading Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain or Anna Nicole Smith headlines about her in the future. Kyrie eleison?
Frozen Digits ~ I get to spend this morning doing a brake-job on my van. That metal to metal sound every time I stop tells me it's time! I promise you there is nothing like holding steel wrenches in your hands when it is 20 degrees outside.
Hebrews 8 ~ Oh yeah! At least I have some good stuff to think about while I'm freezing my digits off. My Hebrews crew - see ya soon.

Prayin for an extra burst of warmth as you work... bundle up your arms, I just saw a special that noted that the warmer your limbs are, the warmer your digits will stay!

the Britney thing breaks my heart... she is just so lost and can't see her way out of it... I pray for her and her kids... :-(
You made me Google the words "Kyrie Eleison" and now I know the meaning of the Mr Mister song... very cool!!
The wind blows hard against this mountainside
Across the sea into my soul
It reaches into where I cannot hide
Setting my feet upon the road
My heart is old it holds my memories
My baby burns a gemlike flame
Somewhere between the soul and soft machine
Is where I find myself again
Kyrie Eleison
Down the road that I must travel
Kyrie Eleison
Through the darkness of the night
Kyrie Eleison
Where I'm going will you follow
Kyrie Eleison
On a highway in the light
When I was young I thought of growing old
Of what my life would mean to me
Would I have followed down my chosen road
Or only wished what I could be
Love ~G
