Dear church family, in light of the weekend storm we wanted to inform you of our plans for Sunday morning. As you know we rarely cancel the service at CCA, and at this point we are still planning on having the building open for a scaled back worship service. The service originally planned for this weekend, including Pastor Dale’s new sermon series, will be shifted to next week. In its place, you can expect a more “unplugged” selection of worship songs, a few scripture meditations and some time to pray together. Please keep in mind that snow removal will be minimal around the building and parking lot. If you are comfortable journeying out in whatever the weather conditions end up being, we look forward to seeing you. On the other hand, we encourage everyone to use their best judgment and not feel any obligation to travel to church just because we’re not officially canceling. If the status changes and we determine that a cancelation is necessary it will be posted on www.ccnh.org, the Christ’s Church Facebook page, and WMUR Closings.

Christ’s Church is excited to be a part of the Souhegan Valley United Prayer events taking place throughout February and March. The focus of these gatherings is to seek Lord in prayer for the welfare of the communities in which we live through the advancement of the gospel. The word Advent is derived from the Latin word adventus, meaning ‘coming.’ In the church calendar, Advent is a season in which the church expectantly waits and prepares to celebrate the nativity of Jesus Christ; the Son of God coming to earth to redeem mankind. The season encompasses the four Sundays before Christmas–so this year it begins Sunday November 30th. We are kicking off a fall small group with a discussion of the book, God & the Gay Christian by Matthew Vines. We decided to study this book (and other papers of opposing views of Scripture) because the issue of homosexuality & same sex marriage is a huge issue which is bombarding the church of the 21st century.
